Anyone have have experience ordering from SLR (rails etc)?

I've written to this company (SLR) about their shipping quote reasoning but have not heard back.

They list a "flat rate by manufacturer" and a "flat shipping rate". I cannot figure out what this "manufacturer" rate is all about. But the regular flat rate seems very steep, much more than average. FYI, I was playing around with it last week, with a HG and something else in the cart and the 'regular' flat rate was $40!

Who here has purchased from this company and can help explain this shipping stuff?
