Late last year I picked up a 7.62x39 upper from Radical Firearms. Took it out a few times but I thought I should test it out at longer ranges. So I went to Sac Valley & here's the results. Ammo tested was Golden Tiger. The lower is a standard AR lower, no changes to the springs or trigger. The bcg is a NiB from Aim Surplus, and I used the enhanced firing pin from Black Rifle Arms. Scope is a PA 1-6x with x39/300BO BDC. At 50/200, the reticle is dead on, but at 300 it was slightly off. GT is hotter than most ammo so it's likely that if I used Tula or similar the BDC would be a better match.
at 200 yds
at 300 yds
and the gun itself
I don't do 3 shot groups, I like to empty a few mags to get the full story. Overall I'm happy with the results, especially considering I was using cheap combloc ammo. I had 3 light primer strikes, of which 2 fired when loaded again. In previous outings with Wolf ammo, all went off. And with Tula ammo, the enhanced firing pin wasn't even necessary.
