So the story goes,
I purchased a PSA 9mm upper, couple of 9mm buffers, and a couple of mag well adapters (I got them on sale for $30 a piece instead of $90 a piece). Within the first 60 rounds the ejector started to deform. hmm well that looks like poor heat treat or maybe even none if its only within 60 rounds? Here is a pic
(I have no idea why it keeps posting side ways???)
Instantly, being the builder I am (I build AK's too), I say to my self, Ill just make an ejector out of 4130 sheet and heat treat it myself (same metal used in some of my AK builds and used for the ejector rail). But then I think why not just have PSA send me some ejectors, and see if they hold up? Then Ill decide if I want to make it myself. So I contact them and get a response that they need my order #. I take the rifle out again and put another 200 rounds or so to see if it deforms more or less. And it deformed MUCH more , so it looks like it wasn't even heat treated.
I get a response back that they wont send ejectors but to send mine in and they will send out new ones. They provided a shipping label and said this,

And if an exchange is guaranteed then how long could it take to process? (Again I ask because the item is not listed so I imagine they are backordered and could take a long time to get in or worse, discontinued). |

He said they don't know and will never know. I then explained to him what another team member said in email to my direct question of if they have them. He says he doesn't know why they would say they have them in stock. I am frustrated now and tell him this is exactly what I thought would happen and I wanted a guarantee. I really thought they would set aside a couple units for the return they know is coming... I then asked if he can just send back my old ones, as I can just make the ejector my self but I wanted to give PSA a chance first. He said if they were defective then more likely we threw them away.....(WTF! if you were going to toss them why not just let me keep them and you send me new ones! Ask me for pics to prove defective ejector) I asked him one final question if there is a notification list of some kind for when the item comes back, he said no. Not happy I just said ok bye and hung up.
Even asking to confirm something wasn't enough for them to take care of my issue and set aside the items. I had no problem not sending them in and just making my own stronger ejector. But I really thought they would come through and I even took before pics (luckily I did) so that I can make a post on how PSA 9mm mag blocks had an issue but they took care of it. Instead I am posting on almost the opposite. To me, as a diy builder, the mag blocks are worth more than the $30 a piece and I can make tweaks or modification if necessary to make it run, but stupid me gave them a chance to make a simple thing right. Yes they are technically issuing a refund, so theoretically I lose nothing. But it really grinds my gears as I essentially lose my sale price purchase, if they come in stock ever again I will probably have to pay regular price for the same two items...but I may not buy from them and I am left with other much higher dollar mag well adapters.
The rep over the phone was nice, I was also nice to him too. (I have worked in the manual labor service industry and have been talked down to a lot so I treated him with respect and didn't raise my voice or use derogatory words)
Alright, rant off
Damn PSA, I really wanted to like you guys! *small rant*
