Approaching Landowners for Hunting Rights

Has anyone tried approaching farmers or landowners for rights to hunt on their land? I know some of them charge i imagine most of them would flat out say no and the ones that would say yes already have people doing it.

I am in the Sacramento area, in nearby towns there are almond orchards and other agricultural areas i have seen turkey and deer on and my guess is that at least occasionally wild boar are out there.

Seems like a mutually beneficial relationship but idk. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you guys.
