Antique Revolver transfer status in California?

Where is an 1870s/1880s S & W "Baby Russian" Revolver at as far as Transfer within California?

I went to the California State Gun Laws sight and spent quite a while, and I found no answer.

Does it require Transfer and ten day wait and safety card and proficiency demonstration, via a Dealer FFL, same as any thing else?

Or...?

The Revolver is just in the next town over from me and is in an internet Auction which closes soon.

I am happy to have the ( not an FFL Dealer but a private party ) seller meet me at a local Dealer FFL for transfer, but I am just wondering what the law is about this and or if it is required with an unambiguous Antique.

Better safe than sorry of course, so, just wanting more understanding so I can know where actual 'Antiques' are at, with California.
